Parenting is tough work and not for the faint of heart. Kids do not come with a handbook and some days I feel as if I am floundering around with absolutely no direction knowing that the decisions I make for my kids will affect them their entire lives. It is such a great responsibility that at times, it takes my breath away It is no wonder that parents look everywhere for some direction and insight into parenting. I understand that parents just want and need a little validation that the decisions they make are ok. There is a wealth of information out there on parenting in the form of books, magazines and websites, all at our fingertips waiting to influence our parenting styles and beliefs. With all of the available information, use it to your benefit and challenge yourself and your pre-disposed ideas. You might be surprised at what you find, I certainly was.
